Interior Finishing

Trim, cabinetry, flooring, tile, paint — the details that decide whether a house feels finished or just done. Handled by our own finish carpenters with decades of combined experience.

Where Quality Shows

The last 10% you'll see for the next 30 years.

Interior finish is where the difference between a competent builder and a skilled one becomes obvious. Tight miters on crown molding. Cabinet reveals that line up. Doors that close like they were made to. Paint lines you can't find. Hardwood floors that lay flat. The list is long and every item is a craft.

Our finish carpenters and painters are full-time Terzi employees with 10+ years on each crew. They show up to the same job every day and care about how it looks because their names are on it. Most of the finish work you'll see in our portfolio was done by the same three guys.

What We Finish

Every Detail

Trim & Moldings

Baseboards, casing, crown, wainscoting, coffered ceilings, picture-frame details. Tight joints, scribed corners, no caulk-and-pray.

Custom Cabinetry

Built-ins, mudroom benches, pantries, bookshelves, window seats. Built in our shop or on-site depending on scope.

Hardwood Flooring

Install, sand, stain, finish. White oak, walnut, hickory — we lay the flat boards properly so the floor stays tight in NJ humidity cycles.

Tile

Floor and wall tile, mosaics, niches, large-format porcelain. Set on cement board or proper substrate — not directly on drywall.

Paint & Stain

Interior paint, ceiling work, trim lacquer, cabinet refinishing. Surface prep is where most paint jobs are decided — we don't skip it.

Doors & Hardware

Solid-core interior doors, pre-hung installs, hinge mortises cut clean. Hardware aligned and properly tightened so nothing rattles.

Common Questions

Almost always. If the profile isn't in any current catalog, we'll have a custom knife ground for our shaper. Adds about a week to the schedule and a small upcharge per foot, but the trim matches.
Both, depending on scope and budget. Our in-shop cabinetry is true custom built to fit. For larger kitchens we often pair our custom built-ins with a quality semi-custom line — best of both worlds on cost.
A little, always — wood moves with humidity. The amount of gapping is decided by board choice, moisture content at install, and proper expansion gaps at the walls. We acclimate the wood for 5–7 days before laying, which most installers don't bother with.
Yes — patching, skim-coating, and full plaster work on older homes. We have one guy on the crew who's been plastering for 20 years.
Yes. We do plenty of finish-only work — clients come to us after a poor finish job and we tighten everything up, or after rough construction with another GC who didn't have a finish crew.
